Totaled my truck today
« on: February 24, 2007, 10:10:39 PM »

Was leaving a "t" intersection turning (left when) an F-350 pulling a trailer hit me in the driver side, front fender, at 60+ MPH I don't remember much, but the fire and rescue said if it had not been for the shockworks sliders and front bumper, I would be dead.  I'm cut up but walking.  The daughter was untouched in the back (passenger side)She is just scared. As I said I have no memory of the incident but I'm going to look at my truck tomorrow and I will take pictures.  Oh and by the way I found out that the Airbags do deploy fine with the Shock bumper.  Yes, Jim makes on hell of a product...

Damn sorry to hear that. Good news is your okay. A truck is just an expensive pile of metal compared to life. So I guess the truck (and mods) did its job!

Wow, sorry to hear about the accident!  I'm glad to hear you are both alright.  I got rearended on the trail not long ago with my kids in the back seat.  My daughter (5) was too afraid to go back in the truck for about 30 minutes.  I couldn't imagine how yours felt after getting hit by an F350 doing 60!

Wow,  that's just crazy.  Makes me feel better with my bumper on there now.  Glad everyone is ok.  Are you gonna cash out or buy it back and part it out yourself?

Oh man. Sorry to hear about that. You had one hell of a truck. But the important thing is that you and your daughter were able to walk away. Any Idea what you are gonna do about a new vehicle, are you gonna get another Nissan or something else?

thank you NOR for causing me to throw thousands of my hard earned dollars into a cheap little truck that isnt worth half the money i put into it, making me break parts on it, and having me spend countless nights in the garage trying to fix it... I've loved everyt minute of it Big Smile

Definitely glad you're both okay... Someone was definitely watchin' over you two. I know it sucks about the truck, but I think you can agree that still having your daughter around, and yourself, is much better of a deal.  icon_smile_thumbsup That's really great about the added protection of the offroad equipment. Maybe I can use that as a good reason for getting some. Glad you made it through, Get Well Soon... icon_smile_headbang

Thanks everyone. I too am just glad that everyone walked away. I received the worst injuries due to the F350 coming through the driver's door. I talked to the tow truck guy and he said The F-350 hit me square in the drives side door, so hell ya I'm glad to be alive.  I won't know what the insurance company is going to do. If it is totaled I will be stripping it before I let it go. If I can keep it then I will.  I don't know much right now.  I'm going to try to make it out there tomorrow to see and take pictures of the truck.  I'll keep you all posted.  I wrote Jim at shockworks and personally thanked him for saving my life.

Glad everyone's ok.  Thats all that matters.

I walked away from a totaled (rolled) Xterra 4 months ago.  I only had it for a month when it happened.  Bought another a week later. There's alot to be said about the safety of the Frontier and Xterra. The insurance/ financing run around sucks if you plan to buy another in less than 2 months. PM me if you need any tips dealing with insurance and or financing mess.
