Have you ruled out a 2" lift? They are significantly cheaper and easier to install - and apparently have less problems (there is another thread on this currently). I guess that extra inch can be really important in some cases however it just wasn't for me.
I have an AC body lift - took a while to install but it was only $200. Some guys fab them out of some sort of nylon/plastic stock for about $40. Most of what was in my kit I didn't need - had I know that I would have gone the same route.

I have actually heard good things about the AC lift in general. Calmini is a good product too. Check the links-vendor tab up top. A lot of guys mix and match parts to achieve their lift instead of buying a complete kit. I haven't really had a chance to do a lot of research on this though.
I can say that you really need to be careful about not doing enough. For example shackles in the back can cause axle wrap so either a add-a-leaf or new leaf pack really the better way to go.
Maybe someone that has done a custom lift will post up with their options. Good luck.

One of the things you'll notice around here is that some answers come back that are applicable to multiple vehicles...akcelr8's response refers to vehicles equipped with leaf springs, such as the 720, the Hardbody, the Frontier, etc., but the Pathfinder uses coils in the rear.
Any lift is a can of worms, but I wouldn't waste any time worrying about it. If the lift kit was designed for your year of Pathfinder, then the UCAs should fit fine. In fact, the UCAs are pretty much the same across the Hardbody and Pathfinder (D21 and WD21) of those years. If the lift kit said it has lift coils, then you shouldn't have any problems. When you get it, just take the time to verify all the parts *before* you start any installations. If anything doesn't apply to your vehicle, work with them to get the right equipment. Worst case, you might have to return something and get something else. AC seems to do a pretty good job of taking care of their customers, based on what I see in the forums. I think you'll be fine, just so long as you verify your parts before you start installation.
Enjoy, and good luck!
