SLR headers for sale, 3.3L V6, used, in good condition
« on: February 20, 2011, 10:04:03 PM »

Up for sale is my pair of used SLR headers.  Originally posted this back in November without pics, so here they finally are.  Bought back in early '07 and ran since then on my 2000 Fronty.  Nothing wrong with these pipes, and I hated to have to replace them as the collectors are bigger on the SLR headers than the 4x4parts.com pipes, and they do make more power than the 4x4parts.com pipes.  I know as I just bought a set of the AC pipes and the truck lost some power.  Had to replace SLR pipes because my truck is an EGR truck, but the SLR headers don't have a provision welded in place and I now live in California, a.k.a. the communist state.  These headers are all stainless except for the collector flange which is mild steel.  You can see rust that has developed through the coating.  You can also see where some of the ceramic coating has peeled exposing the stainless pipe, but still in great shape.  If you want to feel a pretty big difference in the butt dyno, this is it.  I paid over 600 bucks for these not long before SLR went out of business.  $300 firm not including shipping cost to anywhere in the U.S. plus 3% pay pal fee if you pay that way.  PM me or reply to this thread if interested.  I have more pics that I can email.

Matt - I would be interested in these possibly.  I could see maybe spending $200 though personally - just not a big header guy.  Hopefully you get your asking price.

One question:  Not having the EGR connection - does that throw an engine code?  I'm sure you wouldn't know off-hand but I have an 04 and don't live in cali so perhaps these would work.

I see that you are firm so I will hang around hoping you change your mind...  icon_smile_cheers

No way I will go lower on price, paid way too much for them new.  These are stainless with exception of the collector flange, and very high quality build.

Not hard to install, but a PITA to remove the manifolds.  Performance gain is well worth it however.  These 3.3 motors are pretty weak, and uncorking the exhaust does wonders.  Once you see the crappy 'log' style manifolds, you won't even believe how the motor even ran.

The 03-04 motors had much-improved manifolds, most likely a large part of the extra 10 hp they were rated for.
