I built a custom flip down tire carrier utilizing my my rear reciever, a modified wheel chair carrier, and a chopped up stationary tire carrier. I bought everything off eBay for 110 bucks before shipping. That beats the hell out of paying 600 for a production model. I'll post pictures tomorrow once it's light outside.

Thats pretty bad {edit} lookin. Does the tire come into contact with the tailgate if you hit a bump?

No, there's a good 4 or 5 inches gap between the tire and tail gate. Once i go back to work im gonna add a mount for a 5 gallon Jerry can to go behind the tire.

Thats only a 31" tire too. It will look alot better once I mount a meaty 35" on there.

I've already mounted the 35 and there's still plenty of room for a Jerry can. I've had a pretty busy week at work so I haven't had time to build a mount for the can.
